For several years, Andy worked for a large high-speed vessel boat builder and repairer as a naval architect and general manager. The design organisation supported both their South Coast & East Coast Facilities as well as providing design services to the wider market. Andy headed up the design team, which at it’s peak had 11 naval architects working on site. The team were responsible for designing several craft ranging from small commercial ribs to large high-speed offshore catamarans. Their work took them across the world, with projects in Australia, Brazil, Taiwan and most significantly the USA.
Following these exciting years, Chartwell Marine Ltd. was formed to be able to operate independently. This would enable more opportunities for the individuals involved including working with a larger number of shipyards and vessel owners and to be able to work on behalf of MECAL for the purpose of ship surveying and design assessment.
Chartwell Marine’s team has high aspirations but understands that the industry requires day to day support to operate commercially. It’s function today is to act as a service provider to its clients.
We are passionate about boats and want to be involved with as many as possible.
